2 Samuel 22

2 Samuel 22
I have the privilege and the honor of reading God’s Word to my children every morning, we are going through 2 Samuel right now and I read this whole chapter to them this morning. It blessed me so I thought I’d bless you, read it over slowly and let the song of King David sink deep into you, I’m going to memorize this whole chapter

2 Samuel 22 New Century Version (NCV)
David’s Song of Praise 22 David sang this song to the Lord when the Lord saved him from Saul and all his other enemies. He said:
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress, my Savior.
My God is my rock.
    I can run to him for safety.
He is my shield and my saving strength,
    my defender and my place of safety.
    The Lord saves me from those who want to harm me.
I will call to the Lord, who is worthy of praise,
    and I will be saved from my enemies.
“The waves of death came around me;
    the deadly rivers overwhelmed me.
The ropes of death wrapped around me.
    The traps of death were before me.
In my trouble I called to the Lord;
    I cried out to my God.
From his temple he heard my voice;
    my call for help reached his ears.
“The earth trembled and shook.
    The foundations of heaven began to shake.
    They trembled because the Lord was angry.
Smoke came out of his nose,
    and burning fire came out of his mouth.
    Burning coals went before him.
10 He tore open the sky and came down
    with dark clouds under his feet.
11 He rode a creature with wings and flew.
    He raced on the wings of the wind.
12 He made darkness his shelter,
    surrounded by fog and clouds.
13 Out of the brightness of his presence
    came flashes of lightning.
14 The Lord thundered from heaven;
    the Most High raised his voice.
15 He shot his arrows and scattered his enemies.
    His bolts of lightning confused them with fear.
16 The Lord spoke strongly.
    The wind blew from his nose.
Then the valleys of the sea appeared,
    and the foundations of the earth were seen.
17 “The Lord reached down from above and took me;
    he pulled me from the deep water.
18 He saved me from my powerful enemies,
    from those who hated me, because they were too strong for me.
19 They attacked me at my time of trouble,
    but the Lord supported me.
20 He took me to a safe place.
    Because he delights in me, he saved me.
21 “The Lord spared me because I did what was right.
    Because I have not done evil, he has rewarded me.
22 I have followed the ways of the Lord;
    I have not done evil by turning from my God.
23 I remember all his laws
    and have not broken his rules.
24 I am innocent before him;
    I have kept myself from doing evil.
25 The Lord rewarded me because I did what was right,
    because I did what the Lord said was right.
26 “Lord, you are loyal to those who are loyal,
    and you are good to those who are good.
27 You are pure to those who are pure,
    but you are against those who are evil.
28 You save the humble,
    but you bring down those who are proud.
29 Lord, you give light to my lamp.
    The Lord brightens the darkness around me.
30 With your help I can attack an army.
    With God’s help I can jump over a wall.
31 “The ways of God are without fault;
    the Lord’s words are pure.
He is a shield to those who trust him.
32 Who is God? Only the Lord.
    Who is the Rock? Only our God.
33 God is my protection.
    He makes my way free from fault.
34 He makes me like a deer that does not stumble;
    he helps me stand on the steep mountains.
35 He trains my hands for battle
    so my arms can bend a bronze bow.
36 You protect me with your saving shield.
    You have stooped to make me great.
37 You give me a better way to live,
    so I live as you want me to.
38 I chased my enemies and destroyed them.
    I did not quit till they were destroyed.
39 I destroyed and crushed them
    so they couldn’t rise up again.
    They fell beneath my feet.
40 You gave me strength in battle.
    You made my enemies bow before me.
41 You made my enemies turn back,
    and I destroyed those who hated me.
42 They called for help,
    but no one came to save them.
They called to the Lord,
    but he did not answer them.
43 I beat my enemies into pieces,
    like dust on the ground.
I poured them out and walked on them
    like mud in the streets.
44 “You saved me when my people attacked me.
    You kept me as the leader of nations.
People I never knew serve me.
45 Foreigners obey me.
    As soon as they hear me, they obey me.
46 They all become afraid
    and tremble in their hiding places.
47 “The Lord lives!
    May my Rock be praised!
    Praise God, the Rock, who saves me!
48 God gives me victory over my enemies
    and brings people under my rule.
49 He frees me from my enemies.
“You set me over those who hate me.
    You saved me from violent people.
50 So I will praise you, Lord, among the nations.
    I will sing praises to your name.
51 The Lord gives great victories to his king.
    He is loyal to his appointed king,
    to David and his descendants forever.”

The worst part about hell

 What is the worst part about hell? Well according to the Bible there is never ending pain, never ending fire, and worms that eat your flesh. So your answer is probably like the one I’ve had for years until recently which is pain never ending pain. While pain is really bad I don’t believe it’s the worst part anymore because in this world we experience pain on all levels and learn to deal with it. For example I’ve had a bad back for 10 years some days I’m fine and dandy and other days I can barely walk. While pain is bad I don’t believe it’s the worst part the worst part is GOD IS NOT THERE! We have never been in a world without God the Bible says that all creation declares the glory of God Psalm 19:1. Can you imagine never hearing the birds chirp, never seeing the mountains, never feeling love or any other gift that is from God? But there is hope for us He’s called JESUS when we accept Him as our Lord and savior we can share all of eternity in Heaven with Him. If you don’t know Jesus I encourage you to reach out to Him today He’s only a prayer away!

Also I'm finding Tumblr to be easier and I like it better so if you want you can check out my other blog http://beardedshepherd76.tumblr.com/

The Best Part of a Chistian is the Filling!

Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6

When I think of donuts my absolute favorite is the creme filled, and the best part of the creme filled is the filling, I have bought donuts before that say they are creme filled and I start eating it waiting for the creme bite after bite and then finally there is the filling but only a little splash of it, that sucks! And just like the creme filled donut, the best part of a Christian is the filling, we must have the Holy Spirit filling us tell like the picture above we overflow. Then and only then will we be able to live and walk as Jesus did.

Be filled today!

Spending Time with God

I struggle with being consistant, don't get me wrong I read the Word and pray quite frequently but I have a tendency to focus on things that I shouldn't like social media facebook, and Twitter, I believe these are a good thing but if you or I focus too much on them it becomes bad. Also my eating habbits are bad. So I am taking a season off for fasting and prayer. Praying that Jesus changes me and brings me to a place I have never been in Him. Don't worry I'll not boast about how many days and make it a pride thing. I just wanna draw closer you know.

So pray for me that I'll stay strong and not give up (which I have done more times than I can count) and if you wanna you can join the journey to and let me know how it went and I'll do likewise

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ richly bless you all amen

A cute story- the surprising things kids say

http://images4.fabulously40.com/uploadedimage/17338/thumbx320/little-girl-coloring.png

As I am getting older I'm starting to forget things well I don't want to forget this so I'm posting it for you to read and for me to remember ha ha!

I work with kids and I came into a class room and sat down across from a little girl who was 5 years old that was coloring. I told her that she was coloring really good and I said "I want to be like you when I grow up" She looked at me with a grumpy face and she said "that's not good" now usually when I tell kids I want to be like them when I grow up they laugh and say you're already grown up. So because this was not your typical response I questioned her further I said "why" she sighed and looked at me like hey you big dummy you should know this, she said after she sighed "because God made you the person that you are, and you need to be who God created you to be"

What an awesome response from a 5 year old! She is a Pastors daughter and you can tell that God's Word is having a impact on her life.  May God continue to pour His Word into our kids amen.

Jesus heals the man with the deformed hand

I have the priviledge to teach Chapel 3 times a week at a private Christian school. This morning the age group I had was k-3rd. This mornings story is "Jesus heals the man with the deformed hand" found in Mark 3:1-6. Here are some thoughts God gave me this morning, the man in the story only had one good hand and that would limit what he could do. Like for example he couldn't make a PB&J sandwitch, or play catch ect.. Then with one touch from Jesus he was healed, but not only that his whole life was transformed! This man didn't have to listen when Jesus said "stretch ou your hand" he could have said listen here man I can't do that! Are you trying to make fun of me? Get lost! But he did what Jesus said and got the blessing. I can picture this man stretching out his hand seeing it get healed right before his very eyes and having tears of joy pour out of his eyes, I can see him clapping and jumping for joy, and giving Jesus a big hug and saying thank you Lord. I asked the kids what this man could do now that Jesus healed him. Here are some of there responses "he could tie his shoes" he can play catch" "he could dress himself" that's a good one think about how hard it would be to get dressed with one arm. My favorite response came from my daughter she said "he could have his coffee hand back" It's imoprtant to have a coffee hand LOL!

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So that means He can touch and heal you physically but also spiritually. D o you have any aches and pains, or bitterness? Let Jesus touch you today and you'll never be the same! He's only a prayer away!

God belss you all!

An awesome Quote!

http://www.holyspiritri.org/Holy-Spirit-Fire-in-Red.jpg

But has the whole Church ever, since the days before Pentecost, put aside every other work and waited for Him for ten days, that power might be manifested? Has there not been a source of failure here? We have given too much attention to methods and to machinery and to resourses, and too little to the Source of Power--- the filling with the Holy Ghost

Cry for holiness

I just read recently about how the Church thinks that we need to bring sex into it. The article is here. Now while I believe sex is a God given gift reserved for married people only, I think we are focusing on the wrong thing. HOLINESS is a word that we as Christians need to here more than ever. We need to long for holiness, beg for holiness, and even cry for holiness. A lot of Christians will tell you that you are becoming legalistic when you start raising your standards on movies, music, etc.. in the pursuit of holiness after all they say God is a God of grace. Speaking of this so called grace they think that our God who is holy and righteous has some how lowered His standard on sin. I believe this is a lie from the pit of hell. If sin were to enter into  God's presence He would immediately destroy it by His holiness. You see holiness burns sin out of us, and instead of making us self righteous true holiness makes us look at how vile we really are
Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?" In the book of Isaiah at chapter 35 verse 8 it says A highway will be there, a roadway, And it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, But it will be for him who walks that way, And fools will not wander on it. Let's all start walking on this highway of holiness and continue till we see Him in glory.

Loving everyone, no matter who they are

I just listened to this and was blessed by it, basically it's about how we as Christians judge other Christians that are not in our denomination or group, instead of loving them like Jesus. Check it out!
